Introduction
The clock is ticking.

The clock is ticking.

This morning there was a baby seal on the beach.

For good reason, it was trying to get back in the sea.

Despite its best efforts to put itself in harm's way, it was still closer to birth than to death.

From the shore, we watched it get reunited with its folks.

Hollywood ending.

Yay.

After our swim, we watched an amazing old lady get in the sea.

As we watched her in awe, it was hard to imagine she was closer to death than birth.

But the harsh truth is, we are all mortal.

And we do our best to ignore the fact.

We can’t imagine time.

We can’t imagine old people were ever young.

And young seals pups will ever be old.

Hmmm.

It’s good to remind ourselves life is over in a blink of an eye.

And to use our precious time well.

Be kind to people.

Do work that matters.

Spend as much time with family and friends.

The clock is a good teacher.

But mostly we just use it to tell the time.
