Introduction
To the dabblers and the play it safes…

To the dabblers and the play it safes…

Half in love never works.

It will make you feel empty on the inside, and, worse, it will take you a decade to fail.

If you are lucky.

Think about that.

And when the day comes and you have to put the ‘CLOSED.’ sign up, and the removal lorry takes away the worthless remains, you will be left alone with the gritty truth that it could have been different.

You can blame the economy.

You can blame location.

You can blame luck.

But.

YOU DIDN’T COMMIT.

You didn’t follow through.

You blew hot.

But, mostly, you blew cold.

YOU DABBLED.

DABBLING IS DANGEROUS.

And, with the benefit of that righteous hindsight, all you had to do was to pledge with every sinew of your body and soul:

I’M IN.

ALL IN.

COMPLETELY.

TRULY.

MADLY.

DEEPLY.

The saddest part to all this is dabbling takes MORE of your time, with LESS results.

Dabbling is a dream crusher.

And decade waster.

If you fail to commit in a football tackle, you can break a leg.

If you fail to commit in your business, you can break your heart.

Every single time I have played it safe or dabbled, I got a whack.

Like catching an edge on your snowboard.

Snowboards can wipe you out in seconds.

Dabbling takes years.

When we left London, packed up our small car with all our worldly goods, and moved back to Wales with our newly born daughter, the dabbling had to stop.

I had to respect the dream.

And commit.

Half in love never works.
