The big rethink

The big rethink

It's high season and a popular pub is closed.

They can’t get the staff.

Of course, there are the usual suspects.

Brexit. Covid.

Tick.

Tick.

But is there something else going on?

Is it more to do with people getting off the treadmill and not having the desire to get back on?

Hmmm.

They have had a chance to reflect.

To ask: is this it?

And this isn’t just the staff.

Owners are asking their own questions.

Hospitality is a tough unrelenting business.

I will say it again: everyone has had time to ask questions that you can’t when you are busy.

Something is going on.

I can sense it.
