Hire obsession

My brother wasn’t exam smart.

But he had one thing he wanted to do.

And only one.

Growing up, I remember him lying on a sofa with the biggest pile of magazines.

He was there for months and months and months. Not kidding.

Then, one day, he said ‘right’.

He then placed an ad in that very same magazine - Autosport.

The ad said: I will work for anyone, anywhere, anytime, as long as it’s to do with Motor Racing.

He got a call from Sir Jack Brabham – Formula 1 World Champion ’59, 60, 66.

My brother was away.

Years later he went on to start a Formula 3 team with Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen and his management.

He now runs and owns the team outright.

Obsession arrives before the skills.

But the skills don’t arrive without obsession.
