Introduction
No fans, No soul

No fans, No soul

On paper, the money folk own football.

Fortunately, the game is played on grass.

The one thing Covid has taught me is the game needs fans.

Without them, there is no passion.

Empty stadiums leave the players feeling empty.

And everyone else, too.

It’s not the same.

Like coffee without caffeine.

You can.

But what’s the point.

The 12th man is not just a myth.

It’s real.

The fans give it meaning.

They are the soul.

The fans own football.

The money men just rent it.
