I didn’t have time to push my book. And guess what happened

I wrote it.

Launched it.

Abandoned it.

You see, things started taking off at the factory, and my attention went there.

The book had to make its own way in the world.

No podcast appearances to push it.

No keynotes.

I did put it in my Twitter bio - prompted by an overly patient publisher.

And sales were slow at the start.

REAL SLOW.

Then over time stuff began to happen.

Wall Street Journal wrote a big piece on the email renaissance.

They wrote about Hiut and the book.

Last week Miranda (the patient one) mentioned that Do Open sales keep growing.

I felt bad at being such a crap author.

Hmmm.

Most books sales decrease over time.

Very few grow.

It made me think about what happens when you don’t do the big PUSH.

What if you just let PULL do the work.

(IN CASE MY PUBLISHER IS READING THIS – BUY THE BOOK.)
