Take the long way there.

Yesterday I took my eldest to the main train station.

It is around 2 hours away, give or take. (Including coffee stop.)

She is happy to go to the local station.

That is only 20 minutes away.

But I persuade her it’s no trouble to drop her off at the main station.

“You probably never thought about this, but around 90% of the time that you will have spent with your parents was done from the ages of 0–18” — Donn Felker

That quote helps me understand how precious those two hours are.

Just the two of us.

We chat about stuff.

Nothing in particular.

I only wish the main station wasn’t so damn close.
